Mary Helen "Pug" Morton, of Soddy-Daisy, Tn. died on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Heritage Senior Living Center.
She was a member of the Daisy United Methodist Church for over 60 years, many of which she sang in the choir. For many years she was an independent business woman in Soddy-Daisy, owning and managing several businesses.
She retired from the Soddy-Daisy Falling Water Utility District.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Lena Lynch and several brothers and sisters including Edith, Walter, Charles and Marshall (Dick) Lynch and Jo Ann Dicks.
Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Jirlds, of Houston, Texas, and Karen (Stanton) Smith, of Soddy-Daisy; granddaughters, Erin (Eric) Kemp, of League City, Texas, and Sarah (Dan) Johnson, of Greenville, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Ella and Evan Kemp and Delaney Johnson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the Daisy United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Patty Martin, owner, and the staff of Heritage Senior Living Center for all their love and care over the years and also Avalon Hospice for their care.
