Obituary for Betty Hargis
April 18th 1923 - August 13th 2010
On Friday, August 13th, Betty Lee Hargis, a longtime resident of Soddy died in her home.
Betty was the widow of Edward Dee Hargis, Sr. of Soddy.
Betty's parents were the late Fred Allen Varner and Alice Isabel Grant Varner, also of Soddy.
Betty was a dedicated and baptized Jehovah's Witness since 1971. She is known within the community and will be remembered with fondness for the many years she spent in volunteer service as she shared Bible truths with all those she could.
She was always accompanied with her youngest child, a son, Eric Hargis who survives her. Other children who survive her include four daughters and one son, Claudette Wade, Edwina Montgomery, Arlene Tedrow, Connie Hollon and Edward Hargis, Jr.
Betty is survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren along with many other family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, one grandson and one granddaughter.
The memorial service is to be held at the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9831 West Ridge Trail Road on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 3:00 PM
Arrangements are by locally owned and operated Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy.
