Ruby Cora Bennefield Penney died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in aDecatur, Tennessee health care facility. She was 90. She was a memberof East Lake Baptist Church, which is now East Ridge Baptist Church. Shewas a member of East Lake Eastern Star OES No. 238, the Sympathy FlowerClub, Bykota Sunday School Class, Helping Hand Training Union andVolunteer Federally Funded Nutrition Meal of East Lake Group. She waspreceded in death by her first husband, T. T. Brooks; and her secondhusband, Will Penney.
Survivors include two sons, Billy S. Brooks, Rabun Gap, Georgia, andLloyd E. Brooks, Fayetteville, North Carolina; two daughters, CharleneHill, Harriman, Tennessee, and Polly Pickel, Decatur; two sisters, IreneBoyles Ider, Alabama, and Nora Gaddis, Bryant, Alabama; 13 grandchildren;and 21 great grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. atDodds Avenue Chapel, Turner Funeral home with the Reverend James AlvinTallant officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Thefamily will receive friends today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
