  [S25] Find-A-Grave, (www.findagrave.com). [S16] Obituary. Eugene “Gene” Jett, 74, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008. Gene was a native of Soddy and a 1952 graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. He served in the Army after the Korean War and retired from Norris and Sons with over 40 years of service. Gene was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and a member of Creeks Bend Golf Club. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Groomer Jett. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Jett; two children, Scott (Amber) Jett and Kristy (Jeff) Partin; grandchildren, Madison, Hannah, Lauren and Chloe; sister, Sharon (Dale) Vandergriff; and several nieces. Funeral services for Gene will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the North Chapel with the Rev. Terry Shannon officiating. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
