James Wilbert Johnson, 93, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific. Wilbert, with his wife, Mary, was the business owner of Johnson’s Amoco Service Station and Mobile Home Park in Soddy-Daisy. He was preceded in death by father, Jimmy; mother, Edith Lewis; daughter, Linda; brothers, Clifford, Willis & wife, Barbara, J.E., Carl, Glen; sister, Mildred & husband, Eldon; wife, Mary Catherine Hendrickson; step children, Emma Jean & James Vandergriff; first wife, Betty Hatfield.
Survivors include brother, Quincy; sisters-in-law, Margaret, Anne, Wanda & Lilian;
children, Eldon & wife, Louise, Junior & wife, Lorri, Donnie & wife, Suzi, Ronnie & wife, Joann, Patty & husband, Jeff New; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sam Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Poe Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
