Mary Ann Valentine Central Baptist member
Mary Ann Valentine, 74, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, March 15, 2002 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was born Aug. 29, 1927 in Lewisburg, the daughter of John A. and Bessie Allen McClary, who are deceased. She had been a resident of this area since 1945.
Mrs. Valentine was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Her past employment included The Oak Ridger, Credit Bureau Inc. in Oak Ridge, Polly's Fashions and Proffitt's department store.
She supported the Oak Ridge Public Library, the Clinton Public Library and was a member of the Senior Center. Her family said she was an avid reader and she loved traveling, gardening and working crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Valentine is survived by her husband of 55 years, Greer E. Valentine; her sons, Greer "Edd" Valentine Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Smyrna, Ga., and Mark M. Valentine of Clinton; her daughter, DiAnne Valentine of Albuquerque, N.M.; her brother, James Allen "Buddy" McClary of Dallas, Texas; her sister, Carolyn McClary of Lewisburg; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral was held Saturday, March 16, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Brian Walls officiating.
The funeral was held on Saturday, March 16, at Weatherford Mortuary and a graveside service was held Sunday, March 17, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, 640 Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
