Woodrow Wilson Bledsoe, 86, of Soddy-Daisy went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
Mr. Bledsoe was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. He retired from Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local #43 working most of his career at TVA. He served as a deacon, sang in the choir and was devout member of New Salem Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Woodrow was 50 year member and past master at Soddy Lodge #418 F&AM and was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies in Chattanooga.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ashburn, Jasper, Labon, Gene, Erial, Herial and Patrick Bledsoe.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Bledsoe of Soddy-Daisy; sons, Darvon (Sherron) Bledsoe of Acworth, GA and Leon (Annette) Bledsoe; brother, Floyd Bledsoe; sisters, Floyce Smith and Virginia Ooten, all of Soddy-Daisy; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Alan Rogers and Rev. Ted Painter officiating. A Masonic service provided by Soddy Lodge #418 F&AM will be held in the chapel following the funeral service. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy. Mike Bledsoe, Mark Bledsoe, Keith Bledsoe, Floyd Bledsoe, Allen Hackney, Jeff Hackney and Coy Hackney will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
