Returns to Hospital
Pvt. Wilburn R. Penney has returned to Kennedy General Hospital atMemphis after spending a 30-day furlough with his wife and daughter atSoddy. He recently returned from the European theater where he servedwith an armored division in France, Belgium and Germany.

Wilburn Russell Penney
TUSCALOOSA -- Wilburn Russell Penney, 84, 1745 Jack Warner Parkway,died September 24, 2000 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will beat Sunset Chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Vial Fountenot officiating.Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hourprior to services. Sunset Funeral Home is directing
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Penney; daughter Arlene Chissom(Brad); two grandchildren, Russ Chissom (Kristy) and Penney Chissom(Chris) Davis.
Mr. Penney was born in Tennessee. He served in the Battle of theBulge in WWII in U. S. Army. He moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1952and came to Tuscaloosa in 1996.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to theInternational Department, First Baptist Church, or charity of your choice.

TUSCALOOSA -- Wilburn Russell Penney died Sunday, September 24, 2000,in an area hospital. He was 84. Mr. Penney served in the U. S. Army,World War II in the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include his wife,Rachel Penney; and a daughter, Arlene Chissom; and two grandchildren.The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home, in Northport,Alabama, with Vial Fontenot officiating. Burial will be one hour priorto the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset MemorialPark.
