MANNING, PFC LESLEY A.
The remains of Pfc Lesley A. Manning arrived in Chattanooga Tuesday morning. Pvt Manning was killed in action on Sept. 21, 1944 in France. He served with the 134th Infantry. He is survived by his parents, Mr & Mrs Robert Manning of Daisy, Tenn.; three sisters Mrs E. L. Dobbs and Misses Ellen and Lorene Manning all of Daisy. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon from the Daisy Baptist Church with Rev. W. H. Black and Rev. E. C. Harris conducting. Burial will be in Hensley Cemetery with full military honors furnished by Cherokee Post No. 107, American Legion of Soddy, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be Raymond Whalen, Eugene Whalen, Lewis Reno, Billy Stephenson, James Manning and Clarence Manning. Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Roberts, Clift Welch, Warren Grant, Dillard Blackburn, A. M. Davidson, Hamilton Poe, Joe Shadwcik, Harry Lewis, Archie Nale, Jess Worley, James Evans and Alvin Price.The body will be taken to the home of his father at 11 o’clock this morning, where it will remain until the hour of service. Arrangements are by the National Funeral Home.
