  [S16] Obituary. February 4, 1916 - March 25, 2009 Gertrude B. Varner, 93, of Soddy-Daisy passed away surrounded by her family at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. She was the wife of William C. Varner for 50 years prior to his death in 1986. She was the daughter of the late Brison Brimer and Lucrecia Pickett Brimer. She was a member of the Soddy United Methodist Church and she retired from Walmart at the age of 90 after more than 20 years of service. She is survived by her son; Milburn L. Varner and wife Ann of Soddy-Daisy, one daughter; Pat Rehring of McMinnville, TN., five grandchildren; Alan Varner, David Rehring, Jr., Andy Rehring, Kathy Rehring, and Max Rehring. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at Varner Cemetery with the Rev. Sullins Lamb officiating. Family will receive friends from 3-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
