    Thomas (Ed) Penney, 42, died at his residence in Soddy, Tennesseeyesterday morning. He was a member of the Soddy Methodist Church, acharter member of the Soddy Lions Club, a member of the Masonic LodgeF&AM, No. 418, and was also a past patron of Mayflower Chapter No. 141,Order of Eastern Star.
    He is survived by his wife Mrs. Maude Penney; one stepson Thomas W.Reese, Jr. (Joe Penney); mother Mrs. Fronia Penney James; stepfather CassJames; three brothers Jesse and Wilburn of Soddy and James Penney ofMarion, Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. Horace Abernathy of Soddy and Mrs.Gordon Slatton of Greenville, South Carolina; two half-brothers, FaithPenney of Soddy and Will Penney of Daisy, Tennessee; two half-sisters,Mrs. Julia Worley and Mrs. Addie Painter of Soddy; also several niecesand nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at theSoddy Methodist Church, with the Reverends Taft Andrews, E. G. Trentham,and Marshall Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in thePresbyterian Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Max Fox, L. K. Snyder,Hershell Wesse, Ethel Varner, Russell Penney and Hobart Grant. Honorarypallbearers will be members of the Lions Club of Soddy. The Masons willbe in charge of the grave services. The body will be at the residenceafter 11 a.m. this morning. Arrangements are by the R. J. CoulterFuneral Home of Soddy.
