  [S16] Obituary. October 15, 1943 - February 11, 2011 Lawrence J. “Johnny” Wright, Jr. 67, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at his home. Mr. Wright was a US Army Veteran and retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local #5. He was very active in Masonry in the Chattanooga area. He was past master at Soddy Lodge #418 F&AM and Hixson Lodge # 727 F&AM. Johnny was a 32nd degree mason, a member of Alhambra Shrine Bus Unit, the Scottish Rite, Hixson OES chapter #310 and VFW Post 4848. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Wright and Alice Hargis; brothers, David and Steve Wright. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Wright; son Tim Wright of Soddy-Daisy; daughter, Donna (Michael) Joiner of Henagar, AL; brothers, Jesse Wright of Soddy-Daisy and Frank Cox of Red Bank; sisters, Sara Millican of Charlotte, NC and Linda Culpepper of Pisgah, AL; grandchildren, Jacob, Josh, Jon, Alyssa and Kelleigh Joiner. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Phillip Warren officiating. A masonic service will follow in the chapel performed by Soddy Lodge # 418 F&AM. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from 2-7 PM on Sunday and from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for all of the care and support that they provided.
