  [S16] Obituary. July 8, 1932 - November 4, 2010 John Thomas “Johnny” Mills, 78, of Hixson, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010. A native of Sumner, Tennessee he lived in the Hixson area for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Dupont after many years of service. John enjoyed making crafts and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wavie and Maggie Mills; brothers, William Eugene and Joe Leonard Mills and his sister, Margaret Sue Gassaway. Survivors include his sister, Frances Stevenson of Goodletsville and brother, Wavie G. Mills of Hixson along with many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev. Allan Joiner officiating. Pallbearers will be Sloan Rankhorn, David Anderson, Tyler Harris, Dennis Crisp, Tommy Stevenson and Tommy Post. Visitation is Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
