Pearl A. Gravitt Neeley
May 13, 1914 - July 18, 2010
Pearl A. Gravitt Neeley, 96, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010. She was born on May 13, 1914 in Rhea County, Tennessee to the late Calep and Suzie Carney Gravitt. She was a lifelong member of Mile Straight Baptist Church and member of the Golden Agers of Mile Straight Baptist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Neeley; brothers, Burton and Luther Gravitt and sisters, Ada Marler and Edna Wallen.
She leaves behind her daughter, Wanda (Harvey) Richie of Soddy Daisy; son, Tom (Cheryll) Neeley of Chattanooga; sisters, Ruth Nichols of Chattanooga, Joy (James) Laymon of Soddy Daisy; grandchildren, Randy (Eva) Millsaps of Soddy Daisy, Gina Raymond and Amy Neeley of Chattanooga; great grandchildren, Beth Millsaps of Hixson, Jamie Millsaps of Soddy Daisy, Savannah and Jacob Raymond of Chattanooga and a very special friend, Veneta Blevins of Soddy Daisy along with several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Grant Chauncey officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Golden Agers of Mile Straight Baptist Church. Visitation is Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
