Ronald “Ronnie or R.J.” Johnson, 59, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home. He was a local barber for 40 years both in Soddy Daisy and Hixson. Ronnie was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Reece L. Johnson.
Survivors include his mother, Betty H. Johnson of Soddy Daisy; sister, Darlene Powers of North Carolina; niece Alicia (Jimmy Goodwyn) Arrowsmith; great nephew, Kaleb; great niece, Kyrra all of Chattanooga; special aunt and uncle, Peggy and Roy Irwin of Soddy Daisy; aunt, Frieda Gadd of Graysville, TN; uncle, Wesley Harvey of Soddy Daisy; special great aunt and uncle, Alene and Kurt Laymon and many other great aunts and uncles; special cousins, Barbara Payne, Bud and Sandra Higdon and Danny and Carole Harvey and a host of more cousins; special friends, Eric Leffew and Joe Summers along with many more friends.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev. Calvin Nunley officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation is Tuesday from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
