Obituary for Mary Wilson
Mary Redden Wilson, “Granny”, 92, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 1, 2009.
This is not a notice of her death, but rather a celebration of her life. She strived to achieve her most important goals. Those were to be a wonderful wife, mother, Granny, and friend. She dedicated her life to make everyone around her feel loved and special through her kind heart, warm smile, and her beautiful soul. Mary’s generous heart filled her home with love, family, fun, and friendship. She leaves us with a lifetime of love and beautiful memories. But most importantly, she leaves us with the knowledge that we were all unconditionally loved by her. We have the assurance that today she is in the loving arms of her Lord, and is patiently waiting to welcome her loved ones home to be with her for eternity. Mary was born November 4, 1916, to the late Alonzo and Missouri Redden. She spent her entire life in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, was a well known beautician in the community, and was a lifelong member of the Daisy Church of God. She was preceded in death by her devout husband, Ulysses, youngest daughter, Mary Ruth Wilson Mills, and several beloved siblings.Survivors now left with precious memories and heavy hearts are one sister, Effie Ingle, daughter and caregiver, Mildred “Mickey” Reno, son Wayne Wilson, stepson Bobby Wilson, of Soddy Daisy, and son-in-law Wavie G. “Butch” Mills of Hixson. Grandchildren include Tracy (Laura) Reno, Alan (Rhonda) Wilson, and Karen Wilson (Mark Smith) of Soddy Daisy, Carol (Jeremy) Long and Cindy (Randy) Sherlin, of Hixson.
