September 5, 1934 - April 1, 2016
James E. “Jim” Williams, 81, of Soddy-Daisy, TN passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016. Jim attended the DAR School in Tamassee, South Carolina after the passing of his mother when he was sixteen. From there he joined the United States Marine Corps and served a tour of duty toward the end of the Korean War. He went on to work at Chris Craft in Chattanooga for eighteen years and then TVA Watts Bar for twelve years. He attended Daisy Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Essie Ella Nicholson Williams, brothers, Bob Williams, Oscar Williams, Daniel Williams, Clarence Williams and Dr. Lewis Williams; sisters, Ruby Williams, Bea Williams, Koot Williams and Myrtle Williams.
Jim is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Mary Williams; three sons, Andy Williams, Chris Williams, Joe (Karen) Williams; two daughters, Patricia (Mohammad) Mokhtari, Janet (Doug) Bukowski; six grandchildren, Sasan (Megan) Mokhtari, Brittney (Jonathan) Denham, Wesley Williams, Austin Williams, Sierra Williams, Maddie Williams and one great-grandchild, Natalie Mokhtari.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 4, 2016 at Williamson & Sons funeral Home with Bishop Caleb Bolton officiating. Burial will be 1:30 P.M. Monday at McIntyre Cemetery in Catlett, Georgia. Visitation is 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Denham, Wesley Williams, Sasan Mokhtari, Austin Williams, Corey Green and Chad Hodge. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Gideons Sunday School Class from Daisy Church of God.
