  [S16] Obituary. July 3, 1940 - January 4, 2014 Nellie Joyce Skiles, 73, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at home. She retired from Hamilton County School System, and she also worked for 20 years at Cavalier Corp. She dearly loved and cherished her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, Demps and Nola Carey; and brothers, Eugene Carey, Thomas Carey, and Floyd Carey. Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Archie Morris Skiles; sister, Barbara DeBord of Pikeville; nieces, Cindy, Beverly, Helen, Stephanie, and Connie; nephews, Johnny and Barry. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Ron Johnson and Loren Spellman officiating. Interment will follow in Varner Cemetery. The family thanks all the family members and friends for their support during Nellie’s illness. Visitation is 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
