  [S16] Obituary. February 17, 1921 - April 14, 2012 Esther H. Smith, 91, of Sale Creek passed away at his home on Saturday, April 14, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and last attended Lake Drive Baptist. He retired from Dixie Yarns as section leader. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bertha Moses Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lyda (Brackett) Smith; daughter, Carolyn Smith; sisters, Louise Brackett of Sale Creek, Wynell Galyon of Knoxville; Dorothy Bridges of Goodlettsville, KY. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Haynes officiating. Interment will follow at New Providence Cemetery in Sale Creek.
