Margaret Butler Manning, 95, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill, S.C. Born in Jackson, Tenn., Mrs. Manning was a daughter of the late Joseph M. Butler and the late Oda Jones Butler. She was a member of Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ and the widow of William Luther Manning, to whom she was married for 44 years. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pansy Hensley, and her daughter-in-law, Billie Sue Manning. Surviving are her sons, William Luther Manning of Buford, Ga., and Joseph Grant Manning (Marty) of Fort Mill, S.C.; her grandchildren, Kim Parker, Andrea Crosby, Tracy VanHamme and Anthony Manning; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ with Mr. Jeff Trotter officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m. (prior to service) on Monday, April 18, 2016, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Mannings name to the Southeastern Childrens Home, P.O. Box 339, Duncan, SC 29334. Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel is assisting the Manning family and condolences may be made at www.greenefuneralhome.net.
