Leon Pitts, 74, of Hixson passed away to be with his Savior, on Thursday, January 5, 2012. He was a 19 year heart transplant survivor who enjoyed the outdoor. Leon loved to hunt and fish and was an accomplished archer. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Matha Turner Pitts, parents, Johnny and Pearl Pitts.
Leon is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Anderson Pitts, son, Steve (Barbara) Pitts of Cummings, GA., daughter, Ann (Jay) Reed of Hixson, granddaughters, Teresa Parrish, Megan Pitts Marszalek, and Lauren Reed, grandsons, Brent Pitts, Jason Reed and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jay Reed officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5-9 P.M. Friday and after 12:00 noon Saturday at the funeral home.
