Carolyn Joyce Stracner, 76, of Bakewell, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015. She was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church where she was the organist. Carolyn worked as a beautician in her community for many years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stracner and parents, Glenna and Carl Green.
Survivors include her daughter, Joy Coe (Rev. Gladden); son, Jeff Stracner (Rhonda); sister, Judy Vaughan (Bill); brother, Maxie Green (Zoe); grandchildren, Jeffrey Stracner, Jr., Ronnie Stracner, Kenna Stracner and Caleb Hickman; great grandchildren, Anna Joy Fincher, Ella Fincher, Ruthie Rigsby and Allie Rigsby and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gladden Coe and Rev. Ellis Chasteen officiating. Burial will be on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 12 noon at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
