Ruth James, 84, born May 22, 1924 of Soddy Daisy passed away peacefully on June 14, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. She was a member of Christ Family Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Samuel (Dalkie) James, parents: Harrison and Mary Redden.
She is survived by 8 children, 3 sons: LeRoy, Kenny (Charolette), Darrell (Gayle), 5 daughters: Faye White, Gennene Gann (sitter), Deloris Daughtery, Donna (Don) Clingan, Shelia (Terry) Smith (caregiver), 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Special friend: Brenda Van Court of Gulfport, MS.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 16, 2011 in the chapel of Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Millsaps Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the funeral home. Special thanks to Dr. Donald Ziegler, Dr. Vuong of Genuine Podiatry Services, Guardian Health Care, Hospice of Chattanooga, and Ladies at Christ Family Church.
