  [S16] Obituary. January 14, 1923 - October 31, 2010 William Henry “H-ie” Smith, 87, of Flat Top Mountain, TN, departed to Heaven, Sunday, October 31, 2010. He was a member of the North Hixson Church of God. Mr. Smith was a Carpenter by trade and was a fifty-three year member of the Carpenter’s Local No. 74. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, and was very proud to have served in General Patton’s third Army which liberated Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Sarah Smith; brothers, Leroy Smith, Arthur Smith, Willard Smith; and sisters, Irene Yother & Edith Clift. He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Inez Smith; sons, Marvin (Dorothy) Smith, Rick (Carolyn) Smith, Mike (Donna) Smith, Stanton (Karen) Smith; daughters, Sharon (Raymond) Kerns, Patsy (Steve) Holdefer, Debbie (Steve) Smith, Melinda Brown, Bonnie (Steve) Burchard, Amy (Mike) Walden; sisters, Elizabeth Smith, Mary Evelyn Johnson; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, with Bishop Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in East Soddy Community Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. Tuesday. His grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
