Administration

The Soddy-Daisy-Roots project is administrated by Recs and Ursula Jenkins of Emden, Germany. As the initiators of the project, it is their responsibity to see that the genealogical data contributed to the project is vetted, inputted into the offline database and then uploaded to the online database. In addition, they are responsible for the overall co-ordination of the project and the general maintenance of the website.

Accuracy of data

Yes, there are mistakes in the online database and we are only too happy to correct them with the help of your suggestions. Our data can only be as accurate as the sources from which it has been gathered. We are depending on the many family genealogists interested in Soddy-Daisy families to improve the quality of the information in the database. You can make your suggestions for correcting or amending information by using the 'Suggest' tab in the online ancestry database.

Area of interest

The Soddy-Daisy-Roots project is not restricted solely to the town of Soddy-Daisy, but is interested in all of the area of Hamilton County bordered by Walden Ridge in the west, by the Tennessee River in the east, by Chattanooga in the south and by Rhea County in the north.

Contributors

Anyone who wishes to submit corrections or amendments to the data in the online database or submit data for inclusion is welcome to participate in the project. You become a contributor if you submit data to the project and you may, if you so wish, be listed as such on the contributors' page. The best and easiest way to submit corrections and amendments is by using the "Suggest" tab on an individual's or family's page.

Data

The genealogical data in the online database is restricted to the ancestor who came to and settled in this area of Hamilton County, his or her parents and all of his or her descendants. The Soddy-Daisy-Roots project does not attempt to publish entire family genealogies, but restricts its scope to Soddy-Daisy settlers and their numerous descendants. The online database only displays genealogical information in keeping with our privacy policy. If you have corrections or amendments that you would like to submit, then please do!

Mission statement

Our goal is to document the genealogies of all the families in the Soddy-Daisy area and connect them to each other from the earliest ancestors who resided in this area of Hamilton County Tennessee to the youngest descendants.

Non-commerical

Soddy-Daisy-Roots is a non-commerical project which is financed solely by its initiators. No information is bought or sold. Anyone may use the website free of charge. Contributors give their information to the Soddy-Daisy-Roots project with the understanding that they will not be paid and that their information will not be sold, but displayed free of charge on the Internet.

Privacy policy

In our online database only the first name(s) and surnames of living persons are displayed even when more information is available in the offline database. In the case of the deceased, however, all known information is shown.

The first name(s) and surname of living persons are displayed in the database if this information is in the public domain or if the living individual has given us his tacit permission to publish it.
