    Penney - Ralph F., age 50, of 1721 Longview Street, Hixson, Tennessee,died in the Veteran's Hospital in Nashville, Monday night. He was amember of the North Hixson Church of God and retired from the U. S. Navyafter 25 years of service, and was a brick contractor. She is survivedby his wife, Mrs. Alma Penney, Hixson; three sons, Donal Ray Penney, GaryPenney, Tony Penney, all of Hixson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mose L. Penney,Soddy, Tennessee; three sisters, Mrs. Haskell (Mildred) Hale, Nashville;Mrs. A. B. (Frankie) McReee, Mrs. Joe (Merle) Bicker, Birmingham,Alabama; two brothers, Harold L. Penney, Hixson; Robert Penney, Ooltewah,Tennessee; grandmother, Mrs, Jennie Lee, Soddy; several nieces andnephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the NorthHixson Church of God conducted by the Reverend S. J. Davis and theReverend George W. Ayers. Interment will follow in the Hamilton CountyMemorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Herman Benton, JerryPetty, Dennis Blanks, Vann Riggs, Teddy Burns. The body will remain atthe funeral home. Hewas the son of the late George W. and Polly Jane Martin Penney, pioneersettlers of North Hamilton County. He was a retired farmer and a memberof the Middle Valley Church of God and of Soddy Masonic Lodge No. 418F&AM. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nancy J. Penney, Red Bank; two sons,John L. Chattanooga; Mose Penney, Soddy; two daughters, Mrs. JamesMayberry, Red Bank; Mrs. Frances Clift, Red Bank; 12 grandchildren and 17great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

    Soddy, Tennessee, January 21 - Funeral services over the body of Mrs.Pliney Jane Penney, who died at the advanced age of 91 years Fridaymorning, were held this morning on the lawn of the old home place, aboutseven miles from Soddy. Interment took place in the family cemetery.The services were conducted by the Reverend J. M. Hampton, Methodistminister. The deceased is survived by five sons, Sam, Thomas, John,George, and Joseph, and three daughters, Mrs. W. R. Mysinger, at whosehome the deceased died, and Mrs. Robert Roberts, both of Soddy, and Mrs.H. Carden of Daisy, Tennessee. Several grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren survive.
