Survivors are fourdaughters, Mrs. Irma Holcomb, Hixson; Miss Edra Penney, Hixson; Mrs.Emma Tucker, Rossville, Georgia; Ms. Wilma Tomlinson, Tyler, Texas; threesons, Murl Penney, Waco, Texas; Earl Penney, Rossville, B T. Penney,Hixson; two sisters, Mrs. Leola Rice, Soddy; Mrs. Mary Carroll, Soddy;two brothers, Arthur Harding, Nashville; Roy Harding, Illinois; 19grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the funeralhome with the Reverend H. Duane Highlander officiating. Interment willfollow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Christopher Columbus Penney, 83, died Friday morning at his home onthe Morrison Springs Road, following a lingering illness. He is survivedby his wife; seven sons, J.T., M.P., W.F., J.S., and A.G. Penney ofWilmington, North Carolina, and L.C. Penney, of Hawaii; two brothers,J.J. and J.P. Penney of Chattanooga; one sister, Margaret Pierce ofBirmingham. Funeral services will be held from the Soddy Church of Godat 11 o'clock Sunday morning, with the Reverend Mr. Ogle officiating.Interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
