Penney, Mrs. Bertha, 77, of 6024 Hixson Pike, died in a Chattanoogahospital Wednesday afternoon. She was the widow of James Thomas Penneyand was a member of the Dividing Ridge Church of God. Survivors, twodaughters, Mrs. Herbert Hill, Hixson; Mrs. K. R. Harrawood, Harrisburg,Illinois; one son, Warren Penney, Red Bank, Tennessee; one sister, Mrs.Della Stapp, Ringgold, Georgia; one brother, Oscar Bice, Hixson,Tennessee; four grandchildren; five great-greatchildren; several niecesand nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from theDividing Ridge Church of God conducted by the Reverend Frank Rich and theReverend Wallace Angel. Interment will follow in the Hamilton CountyMemorial Park Cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home.Arrangements are by Williamson and Son Funeral Home, Highway 27, Daisy.
